Bozeman's Farmer's Market

Mark took Lindsey and I to our first Farmer's Market. There were a lot of booths and a lot of people.  Most of the things we saw were either too expensive or just something we didn't need.  We did find a great deal on zucchini though (Mark forgot to hold up our purchase and has it in his right hand). I splurged and got some freshly popped kettle corn for us girls.  Yum!  We bought some raspberry lemonades to wash it down with.  Mark couldn't pass up trying the tri-tip sammy. It smelled too good on the barbeque pit.

Poor Little Birdie!

Here the trained Audobon technician releases the bird from the strategically placed raspberry net trap... one false move and the little birdy will be missing a vital appendage.  We tried to get a photo of the actual release but it occurred a little too quickly for the startled photographer.

We all headed to River Rock Pond to beat the
90 degree heat and cool ourselves off.

Tree Demise - Project #2

Kaiya works hard to keep the chives trimmed while Lindsey and her dad extricate the tree.  It's been our Dr. Seuss tree for two years with only a handful of leaves.  We gave up on it this year.

Sometimes if you push really hard...and then pull really hard it will start to loosen a little.  Push----pull!

TREE CONQUERER!

To finish off the tree Lindsey whittles with a saw so we can have some firewood. Krystal stands by for moral support.

Driveway - Project #1

Mark and Lindsey take on the driveway early one morning.  Lindsey loves it when her dad is off work because he comes up with a lot of projects around the house for her to help with.

The first step was to sweep everything off, then Mark used the leaf blower to remove the small particles. Then Lindsey finishes it off with some water pressure for the final preparation.

The next day comes early for Lindsey again. It has been really hot so better to get it done in the early morning because it is a lot cooler.  Lindsey helps mix up the sealant for Mark to get ready to spread on the driveway.

Mark spreads while Tracey keeps the driveway wet.  In this heat that is difficult to do.

The finished project looks great!

Hailstorm in July?

 HAILSTORM in JULY?

July 14, 2011 @ 3:30 p.m.

All of the sudden a fast moving hail storm came through Belgrade.
I mean fast!
Look at it come down.  I am sure glad I did my shopping in town earlier in the day so I wasn't caught up in it. Brrr....

I looked out the front door and the whole driveway was white...
it was covered in hail.

It piled up on the back porch...I took this picture as I was looking at my garden. It was getting hammered by all of this hail.
I sure hope that is didn't damage it ~ especially the raspberry bushes!

After is stopped, I ran out and took
a picture of all the hail that had
piled up next to our garbage can.
It was sure a site to see!

Missionary Dinners

We had the missionaries over for dinner on Wednesday.  Come to find out that Charley and Alison had the missionaries over for dinner too that same night....and so did Grandpa and Grandma Green over in Billings.  Weird...huh?  Elder Mortenson is leaving next week back to Texas.  Elder Adams whom Grandpa and Grandma Green had over is leaving home next week too. Elder Adams and Elder Mortenson served together here in Belgrade.  They are both such awesome missionaries...they are going to be missed here in Montana!

Father's Day

 HAPPY FATHER'S DAY -

Mark had a wonderful
Father's Day. He got some really nice cards and a some great emails from all of his kids.

Mark got a nice new barbeque from his kids ~unknown to them.  He got it for being
the great dad that he is!  They sure did
pick a great one! Look at the little
chimney smokestacks. :o>
Had steak and chicken for dinner. Yum!

Nothing like a man
and his barbeque!

New Closet

Mother's Day gift:
A New Closet for Tracey

Mark took out my old closet shelves and hanging rod and put in a lot more shelves on half of the closet so that I can finally reach my clothes.

Mark also put in two clothes rods so that I can hang my coats on one and then my skirts and shirts on the other.
It is really, really nice!
Thanks sweetheart!

Hike to the "M"

HIKE TO THE "M"

Mark and Lindsey took off on a hike to the "M" early one morning.  Can't believe that Lindsey actually got up that early as she has been sleeping in until at least 11:00 a.m. these days.  Since Tracey had to work, Mark and Lindsey decided to take Kaiya along...she had a great time.

Lindsey rarely poses for a picture...wonder how Mark got her to turn around on the path for one.

 Mark and his
loyal companion, Kaiya.

Lindsey and Kaiya made it to the top...great job girls!

 What a great view!
Such a beautiful state we live in.

Lindsey - Graduation 2011

Congratulations 2011 Graduate -
Lindsey Halgren
Lindsey, who wasn't attentive for the last semester of her senior year, feigns attention during the ceremony.  Good going Linz!

Wow, what a priceless smile!  Who was the professional photographer?  That may have been her dad who did everything but stand on his head to get the right pics
 (and usually failed).

The proud parents pose with their last high school graduate.  We brought her home from the hospital to this house and now just a couple of years later here we are kicking her out into cold, cruel world.

The proud graduate who willingly (ha) donned her robe for a picture.  The rain ruined our plans for a picture in the lush greenery of our yard as had been the tradition.  She's the girl so she can break the mold.

Congratulations Lindsey - We are very proud of you!

Jake - Mission

Jake with his patented smile!  What a great looking missionary.

This is the little old lady from Pasadena (the Brazilian version) and her little old man.  Jake was fortunate to have native companions who spurred him on to be a great Portugese speaker.

It's just like the Palisade Falls...well...except there's no water.

Really...a bus to Montana?  Don't get on Jake!  You still have a year left and it will take too long to drive to Montana on a bus.
